Dark Oaths

'In order to be sure that our secrecy is maintained, Sareph, we require you to swear the unbreakable vow.' Apollonius said, asking either Aimee or Elad to act as the bonder.

'The location of our Dark Arts study is held by a fidelius charm in Aimee and me, but we require that you swear now that you will uphold the secrecy both of this location and the group which you are about to join, therefore I ask you: do you swear to keep confidential and utterly secret everything concerning us, the Knights of Walpurgis, into whose ranks you are about to join?'

He looked at Sareph, awaiting the answer. He now had a choice: to swear as he was asked, or to accept memory modification and remain oblivious to the existence of the Knights of Walpurgis.

''I swear to keep confidential and utterly secret everything concerning you, the Knights of Walpurgis, into whose ranks I am about to join.'' Sareph sweared solemnly, excited to learn the Dark Arts.

Elad watched as Sareph made the unbreakable vow. Soon, they could begin. "It is good to have you among us"

''Thank you, Elad.'' Sareph managed to pull a half-smile at Elad, but doing the unbreakable vow had left him with a weird feeling. It was the feeling of something restraining him from doing something. He thought 'Well, at least I'm smart enough to know not to talk of this.'

I watch from a corner. It made me feel slightly better that he was sworn secercy. I trust Apollo but these things go wrong if shown to the world too soon.

After he's made the vow, I smile slightly. This would be perfect. After it's been done I hear Elad say he was glad to welcome sareph amoung us. It wasn't his group I thought to myself. But never mind, all would work out in the end.

I stalk from the room, knowing the others haven't seen me and head towards the castle. I still had those images of other students being the subjects of pain. It would not leave me, but I welcomed it. it would be something to look forward to.

'Welcome, Sareph.' Said Apollonius. He noticed Aimee glare at Elad: she really didn't like him. It is nice, though, thought Apollonius, that Aimee trusts me more than she dislikes him.

''Thank you, Apollonius.'' Sareph bowed and straightened again.
