The forbidden forest.

There's something special with this place, Hadley thought as she sneaked into the big forest. Once she'd seen a centaur hiding in the shadows and today she hoped she'd see another one. Or maybe something else. A meadow filled with all sorts of flowers was only a few meters away, the perfect place to sit down at. Said and done Hadley sat down in the meadow leaning her back against a big tree.

I ran down and passed the girl, barely acknowledging her. I wove deeper into the forest, then stopped, scaling a tall tree. I sat at the top, feeling the wind in my hair for a moment, before starting to change.

My fingers were the first to change, shrinking into my hands, leaving the impression of a misshapen palm. Next, my legs and arms shot into my body to be replaced by spindly counterparts, and extra pair joining them, clearly too weak for my still fully formed body. My torso began to change, shrinking and twisting, gaining a golden sheen.

The change took away all the worries, unnecessary problems pushed out. There was no room for thoughts in this body. I flicked out my wings, watching them glisten in the moonlight and took flight, heading for the lake.

Eric entered the forest, and walked for a bit without saying a word. He found a nice clearing and said ''You ready?'' to Amy.

"Sure" I smiled, this was strange. It was exactly where I came to change.

''Then step back please, and watch awesomeness.'' He waited until she was a good 5 meters away, then got on all four. He then started to change. He bulged out, muscles bursting out and feathers growing. He grew a beak and talons. When it was done, what stood before Amy was a big black hippogriff with golden eyes.

"Oh wow!" I took a step forward. "You're beautiful." I stepped back again, not wanting too get to close. I didn't like people near me when I transformed.

He walked towards Amy, as elegantly as any hippogriff could. When he stood close enough, he bowed his neck as if she was the hippogriff and he the human. He waited there for her to bow back.

I bowed back, remembering the lesson from CoMC. I reached out my hand slowly to touch him. He was like me. I wasn't a freak. There was someone the same.

He met her hand with his head, letting her stroke him. He laid down, a resting position.

I sat down next to him and stroked him gently. "Wow, you're amazing."

He made something like a sound of agreement, thinking 'That's what I thought when I finally mastered the skill.'

I smiled and stood up. "Can I show you something?"

He nodded his head, once. He thought with a bit of humor 'Now what, she's got some illegal skill as well?'

I took a deep breath and started to shrink, feeling my arms and legs being sucked into my body. My skin turned golden and hardened. Why did this never happen the same way twice? I was small now, only the size of a two penny coin. The transformation finished and I crawled around. A golden Scarab beetle, tiny in comparison to his form.

Where'd she go? She just dissapeared! He looked for her, his head swaying from side to side.

I flexed my wings and took flight, looping round his head. He hadn't seen me, this could be fun!

He saw a little scarab flying around his head, and he thought 'Meh, just some random bug- Wait a minute! Scarabs belong in the desert!' He followed the scarab with his eyes, then growled at it.

He was growling at me so I flew higher, out of reach, just to be safe. I whizzed around, enjoying flight once more.

He rose, gaining a meter. He saw the scarab still flying around, but he couldn't hover like her. When he flew, it was over big areas and big distances.

I was careful to keep out of reach, i'd learnt that after a cat had nearly caught me once. I landed on a leaf just above him and looked down. From there he could see my tell tale mark, the red strip on my underbody, reflecting my hair colour.

He looked up at her, perched on a leaf. He sighed, thinking 'Stubborn Amy, doesen't want to talk to me anymore...' He laid down, his head still up as it always was.

Had he recognised me? I didn't want to be eaten! I flew down and landed just out of reach by his head. It was getting hard to think with such a small brain. I transformed back into human form and smiled at him, then lay down on the ground, looking up at the tree canopy.

He thought 'Maybe she wants to got for a flight?' He nudged her with his head and ruffled his wings.

"You want me to fly?" I looked at him, it was so confusing not knowing what he meant.

He nodded his head again, and then ruffled his wings again. Then he thought 'Ahhh, screw it.' and changed back. He sat down on the ground, now in human form. Then he said ''Wanna try flying in human form?'' He grinned at her.
